River Tavy

Wildlife  We maintain a wildlife corridor along the bank of the River Tavy on the edge of the camping fields.  Entering the river is possilble by the bridge and at the beach area in the lower camping meadow.  Please do not enter the river from the bank in other places.  If paddling in the river we advise wearing some appropriate footwear.  The pools are very deep and the water is always cold which is why migratory fish lay-up in our waters.  At night bats can be seen, the river has visiting otter and many birds visit to catch insects. 

Fishing  Fishing is not permitted on the River Tavy at Harford Bridge Park.  This is a conservation measure to protect stocks of migratiory and non-migratory species.   

Advisory Information  The Tavy is a 'Speight River' and one of the fastest rising and falling rivers in England.  Consequently it can, at times, be a hazardous river to enter.  There are signs advising of the risks of entering the river which at the Park Shop and fixed to the gate by Harford Bridge. 

Any person who enters the river does so at their own risk.  Children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times when using the river.  No liability is accepted by Harford Bridge Park Ltd for any loss or injury howsoever caused by entering the river.
